Welcome!
Choosing an effective Mental Health Service Provider is like choosing a life partner - chemistry and trust are an essential combination in a successful relationship. I welcome you to read more about me below and see how my experience and passion can be the right fit for you.
Let's explore why my experience is right for you.
My Story
Hi, my name is Kira and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a clinical psychology doctoral student at the Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University of Tampa. Ever since I was little, I knew that helping people was something I was passionate about and with every job I held, I found myself always in a helping position. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma, loss and grief. I have many years’ experience working with veterans and military families navigating PTSD, military sexual trauma, and complex trauma. I am empathetic, passionate, and dedicated to helping others heal from their traumas and learn how to gain new insights and confidence. I am trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and am certified in advanced grief for both children and adults (CAGCS & CCAGCS), anxiety (CCATP) and mindfulness (CMIP). My client-centered approach to psychotherapy is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can be empowered to create positive changes and lead a meaningful life.

I have experience working in mental health spanning a wide range of levels, including child welfare, community mental health, suicide/crisis intervention, trauma & crisis response, hospitals and private practice. I have held various levels of positions including leadership roles, but my passion has always been a private practice setting. I love being one on one with my clients, in their toughest moments, helping them through their process of change. Although I specialize in trauma and grief, I also have extensive experience working with children with autism, special needs, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I am an ally for the LGBTQ+ community and also work with military veterans helping them find their next mission in life. I am passionate about working with military and veteran families, navigating all aspects that the military life can bring. I am a military veteran spouse and understand the complexities of active duty, deployments, and the transition to civilian life. In my free time you can find me spending every moment with family. I enjoy laughing, traveling, hiking, camping, and anything outdoors.
